CEREMONY

Tate House offers many ceremony option but the two most popular are the indoor pavilion and their outdoor gazebo. The indoor pavilion is incased in floor to ceiling windows letting in beautiful natural light while showcasing the mountain views and gardens surrounding the venue. If you’d prefer your ceremony outdoors, the pavilion is definitely a beautiful and great rain back-up option.

The Tate House has a lot of outdoor ceremony options including the gazebo, the back patio that overlooks the lake, and then the backside of the house called the “Italian Piazza.”

GETTING READY

The Tate House does have a Bridal cottage and a Goom cottage that you can get ready in. The Bridal cottage has a full kitchen and elegant decorated living room upstairs while downstairs has a large room with vanities perfect for hair and makeup, a bedroom that’s perfect for getting into your dress as well as a huge marble bathroom. Then the Groom cottage is on the completely opposite side of the venue which is perfect so you don’t have to worry about accidentally seeing each other. The Groom cottage offers a great spot for the boys to get ready and hang out. They have a TV in there for watching football games and a poker table.

FORMALS

The Tate House is so picturesque. every corner a beautiful spot for photos. You are allowed to take portraits inside the mansion which I highly recommend taking some on the staircase. Then every side of the mansion is great for photos depending on the time and lighting. I will say usually the sun does shine directly on the the back of the mansion, the Italian Piazza so I typically recommend taking photos at this spot close to sunset for better lighting. Now one of my favorite secret spots for photos is the fallen tree. It is located in the front yard of the Tate house in-between the pavilion and the road. This is a great spot if you want some greenery!

COCKTAIL HOUR & RECEPTION

Cocktail hour at the Tate House usually takes place in an open mirrored and glass walled room. It over looks the outdoor gazebo and gardens. One special feature they offer is Mansion Tours that they guests can take during this time if you book their “The Southern Classic” package.

The Grand Ballroom is where the receptions are held. It fits up to 220 guests and has a 700 sq. ft. marble dance floor in the middle of it. Off of the grand ballroom is a gorgeous
